The Plaza de Oriente is part of a large monumental complex composed of the Royal Palace, the Sabatini Gardens, the Campo del Moro and the Opera House, all important landmarks of palatial architecture and urban planning from the era of the Habsburg dynasty. The Plaza de Oriente is a privileged crossroads within walking distance of other must-sees, such as the Plaza Mayor, the Almudena Cathedral, the Plaza de la Villa, the Calle Mayor or the Monasterio de la Encarnación. A perfect enclave to soak up culture and, in a matter of a few minutes walk, by subway or bus that are just around the corner, access to the main cultural sites, fashionable locals, chic restaurants or shopping streets of the vibrant center of Madrid.
